Love, Commitment, and Coaching: A Personal Milestone

Last weekend, I married my best friend and soul mate. It feels both humbling and exhilarating to say those words out loud. I am a wifey eek! I mean I am still not sure about the surname but I am hoping it will grow on me just like he has...ha!

My husband and I have experienced our fair share of trauma between us, but on Saturday we celebrated our strength’s and throughout a very intimate, emotional ceremony we said I do.

Marriage, at its heart, is about shared values, growth, and the courage to build a future together. And as I reflect on this next chapter in my personal life, I can’t help but notice how much these same principles mirror the foundation of coaching.

1. Partnership

Coaching isn’t about one person having all the answers, it’s about creating a partnership. Just as marriage thrives when both people bring their authentic selves to the relationship, coaching thrives when coach and client walk side by side, exploring possibilities together.

2. Commitment

Saying “yes” to marriage is saying “yes” to growth, to challenges, to standing by someone through highs and lows. Coaching carries that same spirit of commitment, committing to your goals, your development, and the work it takes to create meaningful change.

3. Trust

A lasting marriage is built on deep trust. Similarly, coaching requires a safe space where clients can be vulnerable, open, and honest. Without trust, real transformation is impossible. With trust, the sky’s the limit.

4. Celebrating Growth

Marriage is not a static moment, it’s an ongoing journey of growth, both individually and together. Coaching honours the same truth: every session, every insight, every step forward is part of a greater journey worth celebrating.

As I prepare to exchange vows this weekend, I’m reminded that both love and coaching are about creating the conditions for people to flourish. Whether it’s in marriage or in personal development, the journey is made richer by partnership, commitment, and trust.

The comedown after a wedding is not to be ignored either and I have found settling into a less wedding focused life particularity hard, but it has given me time to really start focusing on Rise and Reframe and everything I have to offer as a coach. So if you are new here, I would love to hear from you.

I am also incredibly grateful to be entering this new chapter in my life and equally grateful to walk alongside many of my clients as they step into theirs.

Here’s to love, growth, and the courage to embrace the next step.
