I grew up surrounded by mental illness. Both of my parents struggled with their mental health in different ways , and as a child, I learned to walk on emotional eggshells, constantly worried , constantly worrying if my brothers or I were going to be safe and more often than not putting my own needs aside just to cope. 

When I was just 16, my mother took her own life by suicide, the pain of that lost alongside the silence and stigma that surrounded it left a deep imprint on me. I spent so many years being angry, trying to understand it all, carrying a heavy mix of grief, confusion, and guilt. Like so many trauma survivors, I  learned to keep going, to survive.... but not necessarily to live.

It took time, support and a lot of inner work to start untangling those embedded patterns. But during that time I found my purpose, I realised my story, although painful, could be a bridge for others. That my empathy, my intuition  and my ability to hold space for people wasn't just something I had developed but it was something I could use to help others heal too.

Rise and Reframe was born from that place. A belief that no matter how heavy your past feels, it doesn't have to define your future. That you are not your trauma, you are who you choose to become beyond it.
