Supporting Young Minds: New Coaching Services for Under 18s at Rise & Reframe

At Rise & Reframe, I believe that emotional well being and mindset skills are just as important as academic learning, especially during childhood and adolescence. Today’s young people are growing up in a fast-paced, high-pressure world, and many are struggling to understand their emotions, manage their thoughts, and feel confident in who they are.

This work is deeply personal to me, not only as a coach, but as a mother.

I have navigated the journey of growth and development as a single parent with two children who are now adults, and I now continue that journey with my youngest child, who is neurodiverse. Through lived experience, I have seen first-hand how vital it is for children to be taught how to talk about their emotions, understand what they are feeling, and develop tools to emotionally regulate. When children are supported in this way, it doesn’t just help them cope, it helps them thrive.

Alongside this, I bring an understanding shaped by my own experiences. I suffered childhood trauma, and through coaching and mindset work, I have learned how to reframe those experiences, reduce their emotional hold, and move forward with greater compassion and resilience. This journey is one of the reasons I am so passionate about helping young people develop emotional awareness and a healthy mindset early in life, so they are better supported than many of us were.

It is from this combination of professional training and lived experience that I am proud to introduce two new coaching services for under 18s at Rise & Reframe.

Emotion Coaching for Children (Ages 7–16)

Children feel emotions deeply, but they don’t always have the language, tools, or understanding to express what’s going on inside. Big feelings can show up as anxiety, anger, withdrawal, overwhelm, or low confidence, leaving both children and parents feeling unsure of how best to help.

Emotion coaching provides a safe, supportive space where children can:

  • Learn to recognise and name their emotions

  • Understand why they feel the way they do

  • Develop healthy ways to express and regulate emotions

  • Build emotional resilience and self-awareness

  • Improve confidence and communication

Using age-appropriate techniques, gentle conversation, and practical tools, emotion coaching helps children feel seen, heard, and understood. Rather than focusing on behaviour alone, we explore what’s underneath it, empowering children with emotional skills they can carry into their teenage years and adulthood.

This service is suitable for children experiencing:

  • Anxiety or worries

  • Emotional overwhelm or outbursts

  • Low self-esteem

  • Difficulties with friendships or school

  • Big life changes or transitions

  • And Neurodiverse children

Mindset Coaching for Young Adults (Ages 16–18)

The transition into young adulthood can feel exciting and both overwhelming. Teenagers aged 16–18 are navigating exams, future choices, identity, independence, and increasing pressure to “get things right”.

Mindset coaching supports young people to:

  • Develop a resilient, healthy mindset

  • Manage self-doubt, stress, and negative self-talk

  • Build confidence and self-belief

  • Set goals aligned with their values

  • Feel more in control of their thoughts and emotions

These sessions are reflective, empowering, and collaborative. Young people are supported to understand how their thoughts influence their emotions and behaviour and how small mindset shifts can create meaningful change.

This service is ideal for young people who are:

  • Feeling overwhelmed by exams or life decisions

  • Struggling with confidence or motivation

  • Experiencing anxiety or pressure

  • Wanting to build resilience and self-belief

A Safe, Compassionate Space for Growth

Both services are rooted in empathy, trust, and respect. Every child and young person is met exactly where they are, with sessions tailored to their age, needs, and individual experiences. Coaching is not therapy (although some people liken the outcomes to that) it is a forward-focused process that empowers young people with tools they can use in everyday life.

Helping Young People Rise & Reframe

By learning to understand emotions early and develop a strong mindset during adolescence, young people are better equipped to face challenges, build confidence, and move through life with resilience and self-belief.

If you’d like to explore how emotion coaching or mindset coaching could support your child or young adult, I’d love to hear from you.

Lets invest in our children and give them every resource we never had after all they are our future.
